Your First Customer

Customers are at the heart of LawnLedger CRM. Each customer record stores contact information, service properties, job history, estimates, invoices, and contracts.

Adding a Customer

  1. Click Customers in the sidebar navigation
  2. Click the Add Customer button in the top-right corner
  3. Fill in the customer details:
    • Name — The customer’s full name or business name
    • Email — Used for sending estimates, invoices, and portal invitations
    • Phone — Primary phone number
    • Address — Billing address for the customer
    • Notes — Any additional information about the customer
  4. Click Save to create the customer record

Adding a Property (Location)

Most landscaping customers have one or more service properties. After creating a customer:

  1. Open the customer’s detail page
  2. Click Add Property or navigate to Locations in the sidebar
  3. Enter the property details:
    • Address — The physical service location
    • Property Type — Residential or Commercial
    • Lot Size — Helpful for estimating services
    • Notes — Gate codes, access instructions, pet warnings, etc.
  4. Click Save

A single customer can have multiple properties. This is common for property managers or commercial clients with several locations.

Bulk Import

If you have an existing customer list, you can import them in bulk:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Bulk Import
  2. Download the CSV template
  3. Fill in your customer data following the template format
  4. Upload the completed CSV file
  5. Review the preview and confirm the import
⚠️

Always review the import preview carefully before confirming. Duplicate records may be created if customers already exist in the system.

Lead Pipeline

New customers can also enter through the Lead Pipeline (accessible from the sidebar). Leads progress through customizable stages:

  • New — Initial contact received
  • Contacted — You have reached out
  • Estimate Sent — An estimate has been provided
  • Won — The lead has converted to a customer
  • Lost — The lead did not convert

Next Steps

Now that you have a customer, you can create your first estimate.
