Bills
A bill is a promise to pay — the supply yard’s monthly statement, the subcontractor’s invoice, the equipment lease. It sits on your books as money you owe until you pay it, so you can see what’s coming before it hits.
Bills are part of the accounting layer — Professional and up. Requires
bills.view / bills.edit.
Enter a bill
Open Bills
Books → Bills, then New bill.
Choose the vendor
If they’re new, add them here. Vendors are reusable — the next bill from them is faster.
Enter the amount and the due date
The due date is what drives everything useful about this feature: what’s coming, and what’s late.
Categorize the lines
A bill can have several lines with different categories — materials on one, equipment rental on another. Attach lines to jobs where they belong.

Paying a bill
Open the bill and click Record payment. Enter the date, the amount, and which account it came from. Partial payments are fine — the balance stays open until it’s covered.
If your bank is connected, the payment will also show up as a bank transaction; match the two rather than categorizing separately, or you’ll record it twice.
What’s coming and what’s late
The Bills list shows open bills by due date. Bills past their date are marked overdue. Watching this list is how you avoid a supplier putting you on credit hold in the middle of a busy week.
Purchase orders
If you use purchase orders, a PO becomes a bill when the goods and the invoice arrive. That keeps what you ordered, what showed up, and what you were charged connected.
