Your First Estimate

Estimates let you provide professional quotes to potential customers. Once approved, an estimate can be converted directly into a job or invoice.

Creating an Estimate

  1. Navigate to Estimates in the sidebar
  2. Click New Estimate
  3. Fill in the estimate details:
    • Customer — Select an existing customer or create a new one
    • Property — Choose the service property
    • Date — The estimate date (defaults to today)
    • Expiration Date — When the estimate expires
  4. Add line items:
    • Select from your predefined Services or enter a custom description
    • Set the Quantity and Unit Price
    • Add additional line items as needed
  5. Review the Subtotal, Tax, and Total
  6. Click Save to create the estimate as a draft

Sending the Estimate

Once your estimate is ready:

  1. Open the estimate from the list
  2. Click Send to email the estimate to the customer
  3. The customer receives a link to view the estimate online
  4. They can Approve or Decline the estimate through the customer portal

You can customize the appearance of your estimates by creating custom form styles under Templates > Form Styles.

Estimate Statuses

  • Draft — The estimate is being prepared and has not been sent
  • Sent — The estimate has been emailed to the customer
  • Viewed — The customer has opened the estimate
  • Approved — The customer has accepted the estimate
  • Declined — The customer has rejected the estimate
  • Expired — The estimate has passed its expiration date

Converting an Estimate

After a customer approves an estimate, you can convert it:

  1. Open the approved estimate
  2. Click Convert to Invoice to generate an invoice with the same line items
  3. Alternatively, create a Job from the estimate to schedule the work

Converting an estimate preserves all line items and pricing. You can still edit the resulting invoice or job before sending or scheduling.
